COE publish summary report on support for Dhanuskodi Test Centre

On 17th January 2023, the Centre of Excellence for Offshore Wind and Renewable Energy published a summary report regarding the support and collaboration carried out on the pre-feasibility assessment for the Test Research Centre for Offshore Wind Turbines at Dhanuskodi.

The report summarizes the main activities and findings related to the support provided for the pre-feasibility assessment for the Test Research Centre for Offshore Wind Turbines at Dhanuskodi:

• Outlining a preliminary roadmap to be used by NIWE in screening of requirements and support preliminary activities for development of the work plan to develop the Dhanuskodi Wind Test Centre.

• Summarizing the recommendations and inputs gathered at the workshop, including most suitable uses for the test centre based on the outcome of the survey, interviews and fur-ther inputs collected at the workshop.

• Identifying and consolidating a set of priorities for the next steps of the development of the National Test Research Centre for Offshore Wind Turbines at Dhanuskodi. This could include proposal for further support through INDEP (to be executed in 2023).

The work has been based upon a substantial collaboration between the Danish Energy Agency, the National Institute of Wind Energy and the Technical University of Denmark during 2020-2022 to provide advisory, guidance and capacity-building in the area of standards and wind turbine testing. Within this work, the Danish experiences from the Danish offshore wind test centre at Østerild have been utilized as inspiration for the development of the Test Research Centre for Offshore Wind Turbine at Dhanuskodi. This included a stakeholder consultation workshop that was held under the Centre of Excellence in Octover 2022.
