Launch of LCOE/VGF tool on 28th April 2022

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the National Institute of Wind Energy, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency and the Danish Energy Agency is hosting a workshop to launch the joint tool for Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) and viability gap funding (VGF) calculations for financing of the first offshore wind farms.

The workshop will take place on 28th April 2022 from 12.00-13.30. The event will take place in Delhi (without possibility of attending virtually).

The LCOE/VGF is part of the FIMOI project (Financial Modelling of Offshore Wind Farms in India), a joint initiative between India and Denmark under the Centre of Excellence for Offshore Wind and Renewable Energy to increase knowledge and awareness on cost projections and de-risking for the first offshore wind farms in India.

The event will be inaugurated by MNRE Joint Secretary Shri Dinesh Jagdale, DEA Deputy Director-General Shri Martin Hansen and NIWE Director-General Shri Dr. K. Balaraman. Expected participants at the workshop will be Indian and international authorities, companies and organizations within the Indian offshore wind sector.
